Quality criteria for good cobblestones or slabs

The installation of cobblestones or slabs must be carried out properly, to create a path as elegant as it is walkable.

Your next driveway will be durable and ready to fulfill it's mission. But what are the criteria that define a good cobblestone or slab?

  • Resistance to heavy loads
  • Resistance to bad weather and frost
  • Resistance to wear
  • Easy to clean
  • Easy to maintain
  • Non-slip

Which materials to choose for your flooring?

To pave your driveway, SC Asphalte mainly uses natural stones such as granite, sandstone or limestone.

This gives your exterior an organic path that fits perfectly into your home's landscape. We also use concrete slabs and reconstituted stone cobblestones.

Composed of aggregates, reconstituted stone offers undeniable aesthetic advantages. It is capable of imitating natural stone or other materials such as wood or marble.

Laying cobblestones and slabs

We offer the creation of paths - other means of access to the garden - through the installation of cobblestones or slabs, to give a style that will perfectly integrate into the landscape of your home.

Perfect for a pedestrian driveway, cobblestones and slabs are available to you with a wide choice.

We can also lay ceramic stoneware slabs on pedestals, which will allow access at any time to pipes or ducts that could pass under the finish.

Edging

The steps of making an edging

  1. Edging delimitation:
We take the measurements of the future edging and dig a trench. It is in this trench that we will place the cement and then the edging.
  2. Edging laying:
After laying the cement bed, we lay the first edging. A solemn event for some, it is the starting stone that will give birth to the entire edging.
  3. Edging finishing:
Once the laying is finished, we work on the finishing touches (the holes are filled along the edging) to make your edging clean and make all traces of recent work disappear.
  4. Advantages of edging:
By choosing edging, you bring an incomparable aesthetic rendering. The great resistance of the finish prevents the edges from degrading quickly and weeds from spreading on the finish.

Garden edging: which materials to choose?

By calling on our company, you are assured of being in good hands. And more than just hands, we are also very good advisors!

Our experience in the field has given us the necessary knowledge to advise you. Which materials for your future edging will go best with your access?

Mainly, three choices are available to you:

  • a classic concrete edging
  • an edging with cobblestones
  • ceramic stoneware slabs

If the concrete edging is a must, it is not for nothing. Easy to shape to measure and quick to install, it provides a beautiful finish to your access.

The choice of cobblestone edging

Cobblestone edging, on the other hand, brings a more natural and organic look.

Stone has a unique aesthetic and adapts to all professional accesses or a garage descent and terrace edges. Another physical advantage of stone, it easily resists heavy loads as well as bad weather and frost.

Easy to clean, cobblestone edging will bring you daily satisfaction!
